Faster Frames, Smarter Homes: Supercharging BIMaire’s VR Experience

How BIMaire and Kinemeric tuned a Quest Unreal app for smoother, more immersive home visualization.

BIMaire, a Berkshire Hathaway company and leader in home building technology, partnered with Kinemeric to level up the performance of their Quest-based Unreal Engine VR application. The goal was clear: preserve visual fidelity while making virtual home walkthroughs feel noticeably smoother, more responsive, and more comfortable for users.

Kinemeric conducted a targeted optimization of the application’s codebase and 3D content, streamlining how geometry and assets were handled at runtime. This effort resulted in a 49% reduction in polygon count across the experience—shrinking the rendering workload without compromising the clarity or quality of the spaces BIMaire’s customers explore.

The impact on performance was significant. In key areas of the experience, frame rates climbed from 50 FPS to 72 FPS, delivering a much more fluid and stable experience on Meta Quest hardware. Higher, more consistent frame rates reduce discomfort, improve interactivity, and make every movement—from turning your head to stepping into a virtual kitchen—feel more natural.

By optimizing under the hood, BIMaire and Kinemeric transformed an already powerful VR tool into a more efficient, scalable platform for home visualization. The result is an application that not only looks good, but also runs brilliantly—supporting BIMaire’s mission to bring advanced home building technology to life in immersive, customer-friendly ways.
